Enter Shiloh Cook, a teenager living in the suburbs in 2005. Lately he's graduated high school, been accepted into a fancy university, and has recently found out that his seemingly happy parents are now getting a divorce. With nothing to look forward to in his little small hometown and everything to look at elsewhere, Shiloh decides that his last summer before impending adulthood will be filled with the unfamiliar: a summer he most certainly will never forget.
Three (probably stupid things) inspired this series:
1. The Green Day album "American Idiot," which I would listen to endlessly in high school. I still love the band to this day... just one of those bands from the 90's I couldn't shake loose.
2. Around the time I was in high school (not that long ago), rock was changing. The grungy, punk, metal, (etc.) type of rock was being traded for a more emotional rock as far as popular music went.
3. The fact that I was never a rebellious teenager. Basically, I like to write about things that have absolutely never happened in my life.
